Frank B. Romero "Kiko" was born on March 10, 1927 to Pablo and Petra Beltran Romero in Douglas, Arizona, on 9 ^th street.  He would have been 91 years old this year.  He was the last surviving member of his family, which included his brothers and sisters Porfirio (Pilo), Andres (Chito), Tomas (Chato), Genovevo (Chino), Fausto, Margarita (Chita), and Celestina.  He was very proud of the fact that his brothers Chino, Pilo and Chato had gone to World War II.  He was also very proud of his family and loved them dearly.  He attended Sarah Marley School and Douglas Middle School but then went t work when he was in the 8 ^th grade to help his mom and dad in the fields and farms where they worked.  He remembered Ms. Marley's kindness and generosity often.  He also went to live in California to help his sister, Celestine.  Upon returning to Douglas, he met his wife, Nachita, and married.  They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this June.  Together they raised six children, Frank (Ana Louisa), Ernie (Tonie), Alma (Arnold), Edgar (Deceased), Cesar (Gloria) and Beverly (Gustavo).  He has 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.  Frank worked for Arizona Public Service for 35 years and Southwest Gas for 5 years.  He was only absent ½ day in all the years he worked when his mother passed away.  He prided himself upon his job and his hard work ethic.  He attended Immaculate Conception Church.  He was a very kind, loving, and supportive man with many friends.  He was always willing to help people who needed his help.  In the 1980's he could often be found playing pool with his friends at the B & P.  He loved sports, especially boxing and football.  His favorite team was the Raiders.  He enjoyed having coffee in the morning with his coffee buddies.  He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Luke's Catholic Church with the Mass of the Resurrection being celebrated following the Rosary at 10:30 a.m.  Burial of his ashes will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
