Frank C. Lopez beloved father and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2015.
Frank was born in Douglas on January 28, 1927 to Frank and Maria Lopez and is preceded in death by an older brother Ed Lopez, grandson Frank Lopez III and his loving wife Betty Lou of more than 50 years. Frank was a devout Christian having trusted in Christ His Savior at an early age and having a hand in leading his wife Betty to the Lord. Frank was raised in Douglas and graduated from Douglas High School before joining the Army and being stationed in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Upon returning home he enrolled at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona where he first met Betty. Eventually earning his master's degree in education Frank began his teaching career in Elfrida. Frank also taught in San Manuel and ended up in Douglas where he retired. Frank was an active member of First Baptist Church and known for his dry humor and love of coffee. Frank passed peacefully at Cypress Inn having succumbed to Alzheimer's. Frank is survived by his 3 children Frank Lopez III (Rose), Rita Long (Brian) and Keith Lopez. His grandchildren Stephanie Lopez, Andrea Lopez, Jeremy Long, Jason Long, Keith Lopez Jr., Phillip Lopez, and 8 great-grandchildren. Frank also leaves his brothers Richard C. Lopez and Charles Lopez and his sister Delia Zepeda. Frank will be deeply missed but we are confident he is now in the presence of God. Viewing will be held at Brown Page Mortuary on Friday October 30th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Huachuca Honor Guard, the American Legion and VFW. Pallbearers who will serve are Felix Aquino, Jason Long, Jeremy Long, Phillip Lopez, Keith Lopez, Jr., Ray Shelton and Tom Jensen.
