Francisco Xavier Cornejo, affectionately known as Frank, Pancho, Corny, and Lenty, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 77. Born on November 28, 1947, in Douglas, Arizona, Francisco was a beloved husband to Minnie Cornejo and a devoted father to his children: Bernardo Cornejo, Monica Cornejo, Ana Cornejo, and Luanna Cornejo. He was also a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Francisco also had three stepchildren and four step grandchildren. He also had two step great grandchildren that loved him very much.

He is remembered fondly by his siblings Lupe Beccera, Mary Villanueva, and Ernesto "Chacho" Chavez. He was preceded in death by his father Carmen Cornejo, mother Maria Leyva, brother Joe Cornejo, and granddaughter Luanna Encinas.

Frank enlisted in the United States Army in October of 1965 and was honorably discharged on March of 1973 as an E-4 Specialist medical assistant. After his discharge from the United States Army he joined the Arizona Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged from the National Guard in 1975. Frank was then employed by the Douglas Police Department, retiring in 2001 after 20yrs of dedicated service. He then was employed by the Arizona Department of Transportation retiring after 15 years.

Frank lived a full and vibrant life. Known for his strong presence in the community, he brought joy to many through his passion for singing-whether with mariachis or simply among loved ones. His deep voice and love of music left lasting memories for those fortunate enough to hear him sing.
A lifelong fan of the Raiders, Frank also enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and visiting casinos. He cherished time spent with his children, grandchildren's family and friends on trips that created treasured memories across generations. His loyal Chihuahua, Cici, was always by his side and will miss him dearly.

Franks sense of humor was unforgettable-his jokes often left listeners wondering whether to laugh or not, not knowing whether he was serious or joking. He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Douglas Az and gave his time as a volunteer whenever he could.

Frank Cornejo's legacy lives on through the love he shared and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
