Frances Julia (Valencia) Duron gained her angel wings on Saturday, March 1, 2025 in Tucson, Arizona passing away peacefully at home. She was 90 years old. She was born on June 4, 1934 to Celedonio and Manuela (Granillo) Valencia in Dos Cabezas,  Arizona. In 1996, she married Conrado Acosta Duron.

As a result of losing her parents six months apart at the tender age of 5 years old, Frances did not have an ordinary childhood. She was placed into an orphanage and into the foster care system. She often reminised about the good times she did have at the Preventorium Orphange in Oracle, Arizona. Her experiences as a young girl shaped her into a very strong woman.  She worked very hard to provide for and raise her children. As a young woman, she worked as a waitress at a Mexican Cafe. She spent many years as an at home wife and homemaker. She loved being in the kitchen making homemade meals, treats and baked goods for her family. Her yeast rolls were unforgetable. She enjoyed feeding others. Everyone, especially her nieces and nephews, always remembered her famous homemade tacos. She was also a gifted seamstress creating and sewing clothing and dresses for her seven children. Frances was a loving caregiver to her disabled sister, Rosemary Valencia for many years. Frances was also a breast cancer survivor. Frances loved traveling, especially to see her sister in law, Stella Mae Stacy in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Their bond was very special. She shared many special moments with family and friendsduring her visits there. Frances was a gifted Chinese Checkers Champion and loved to win. She also loved music, singing, crossword puzzles and word finds..She enjoyed watching Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune.

Frances had an unwavering Faith in God and prayed often with her daughter, Lisa. Her faith and prayer was an important part of her life. She attended church at St. Luke Catholic Church in Douglas, Arizona for many years. She graduated from Cochise County College in 1988 with a degree in Social Work. Obtaining a college degree was an amazing accomplishment for Frances, as it led her to a career where she was able to use her childhood tragedy and experience to help others. She worked for the Arizona Department of Economic Security Family Services before she retired.

Frances is survived by her children: Rose "Cha-Cha" (Manny) Medina, Arizona; Teresa Cummins, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Andrew "Jack" (Gina) Stacy, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Stella Mae "Sissy" (Armando) Rojo, Hot Springs, Arkansas; Donald Stacy, Hot Springs, Arkansas; Ronald (Dawn) Stacy, Moundsville, Alabama; and Frances "Lisa" Stacy, Tucson, Arizona.

Grandchildren: Victor Medina, Denver, Colorado; Christopher Medina, Vermont; Nathaniel Cummins, Seattle, Washington; Loretta Grisby, Waldron, Arkankas; Sandra Blair, Fort Smith, Arkansas; Andrew Stacy, Chad Stacy, Sean Stacy, Janesville, Wisconsin; Armando "Mundy" Rojo, Alabama; Jennifer Rojo, Roxanne Rojo, Hot Springs, Arkansas; Julia Stacy Cook, Martha Welshans, Jon Michael Stacy, Moundsville, Alabama; Wayne Eggins and Shanell Stacy, Tucson, Arizona; several nieces, nephews, cousins and great grandchildren. Special friend "Gator" Jack Lussier who helped her family with her care, her special friend, Nancy Gonzalez, who has been her close friend for over 40 years.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, her siblings: Pedro "Pete Valencia, Juan "Johnny" Valencia, Rosemary Valencia, Geronimo "Jerry" Valencia, Jessie Pena and Martha Morales. She was also proceeded in death by the father of her children, Andrew Jackson Stacy, and her husband, Conrado Acosta Duron.

Special thanks to her grandaugher, Shanell Stacy and daugher Lisa, "Gator", cousin Fred Valencia, Casa de la Luz hospice and Dr. Hector Melvin for the loving care they all provided for Frances in her final chapter of life until the end. Frances leaves behind a stong legacy of love, family and strong work ethic. She will be very missed.
