Esperanza Yanez Lopez, 89, of Douglas, AZ passed away in her sleep on October 2, 2024. Esperanza was born on December 28, 1934 in Jecori, Sonora, Mexico. She married Armando Lopez in 1958 and they raised 7 children in Douglas- Rosa (Enrique) Robeson, Guadalupe Lopez, Luis (Angie) Lopez, Octavio (Maria) Lopez, Joaquin (Rosa) Lopez, Flora (Roberto)  Lopez, Margarita (Soltero) Altamirano.

She loved to sing, dance, and cook. She never lost her feisty spirit in her battle with dementia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Margarita Martinez and Silverio Yanez, husband Armando Lopez, brothers Jesus Yanez, Roberto Yanez, Inocente Yanez, and sister Rita Yanez

She is survived by her sister Nela Betancourt, her 7 children, 18 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held at Brown Page Mortuary on October 10th from 1:00-6:00 pm and Rosary from 6:00-7:00 pm. Mass will be at Immaculate Conception Church on October 11th at 11:00 am followed by the burial at Calvary Cemetery at 12:15pm.
