Esequiel Morales Jr. went to heaven on Friday January 30th, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Yolanda Morales, and his son who he has missed every day for the last 32 years Gabriel Morales.  His parents Esequiel B. and Guadalupe M. Morales. Esequiel Morales Jr. is survived by his loving sons Esequiel III, Daniel, and Ariel Morales along with his grandchildren Adrian, Alejandro, Gabriel, Esequiel IV, Gael, Nathaniel, and Celine, Aidyn Morales and numerous siblings, nieces and nephews. Our father was wonderful, a loving husband and father and grandfather. We will miss him greatly, but he will always be in our hearts. Esequiel was a long-time resident of Douglas where he was born and raised. He possessed a strong work ethic even as a child, working in the fields and at the Douglas Smelter.  He graduated from Douglas High School in 1966.  He went on to Cochise College where he received his associate in education.  He continued to Northern Arizona University and received his Master's in Spanish in 1970.  Esequiel returned to Douglas where he worked 27 years as an educator at Paul Huber Jr. High and Douglas High School, until he medically retired after suffering a debilitating stroke 29 years ago. He was presently living in Douglas.

The grandchildren are honored to carry their grandfather.
