Our beloved Eric Anthony Champion Sandoval, 26, of Douglas departed to be with our Lord, peacefully among family on Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Phoenix.
Eric was born on July 10, 1988 in Douglas to Cynthia Sandoval (Anzaldua).
Eric was preceded in death by his great-grand-parents Pete Champion Sr. and Mary Ramirez Champion, of Douglas; Herb and Paula Sandoval of Douglas, grandmother Porfiria Anzaldua of Deming, N.M. Aunt Angela Anzaldua of Safford and Tio Gabriel Guerrero of Douglas. He is survived by his mother Cynthia Anzaldua of Douglas; step-father Raymond Anzaldua III of Morenci; his daughter Adriana Lynn Sandoval Williams of Colorado, two sisters Dominique and Whitney Anzaldua of Morenci; Nana Isabel Champion Sandoval, Tata Ben Sandoval Sr. of Douglas, grandfather Raymond Anzaldua of Deming, N.M., Nino Pete Champion Jr., Uncle Ben Sandoval Jr. (Nydia), Aunts Marie Nannette Neri (Willie), Mona Sandoval Guerrero (Rene), all of Douglas; Nina Lorraine Sandoval Dominguez (Rafael) of Globe,AZ; three nieces Evalycia Rae Anzaldua, Sabrina Marie Cuhen, and Adalina Nicole Cuhen of Morenci; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his childhood best friend Michael Ochoa of Las Cruces, N.M. Eric was a very loving and caring person, who had a good heart and would do anything to help someone in need. He was a very spiritual person who enjoyed speaking of, and comforting many by sharing the words of our Lord. He was very proud of his sisters and loved them and his nieces with all of his heart. Eric loved his little Adriana more than life itself. He enjoyed spending time at the river and lakes, being around horses and dreamed of becoming a pro bull rider. He enjoyed listening to and dancing to country music. His favorite was George Strait. Eric was a beautiful soul and will be missed. Visitation for Eric will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 9 a.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. at St, Luke's Catholic Church followed by a celebration of the Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Michael Ochoa, Alex Ochoa, Joseph Sandoval, Gabriel "Sparky" Guerrero, Rene Guerrero, and Marcos Sandoval. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Sandoval Jr.; Pete Champion Jr., Guillermo (Willie) Neri, R.J. Dominguez, Jose Dominguez, David Dominguez, Christopher Guerrero, Scott Porter and Robert Anthony Frias.
