Obituary

Elvira Miranda Moñtano, age 81 of Douglas, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in her home surrounded by her children and loving husband.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st followed by Rosary Services held at 7:00 that evening. Visitation was held again on Saturday morning, November 2nd for family and friends.
The Funeral Mass was held at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday and was officiated by both Father Armando Noriega and Father Gilbert Malu. Pallbearers were her oldest son, Frank Moñtano, her grandchildren Hunter Long and Dustin Long, her sons-in-law, Paul Barco and Marco Barrios. A friend of the family, Manuel Garcia also served as a pallbearer.
Elvira was born in Oputo, Mexico and had lived in Douglas for the last 62 years. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She loved to travel with her husband; they traveled to Washington, DC, Florida, Ohio, Idaho, Texas, California and Las Vegas, Nevada where she enjoyed the casinos.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ricardo Moñtano, her oldest son, Frank Moñtano and his wife Sallie. Two daughters, Irasema Barco and her husband Paul, and Dolores Moñtano. She also had eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Miranda.
People wishing to donate in her memory can do so to your local Hospice. Hospice provided invaluable support and care during Elvira's final months.
