Obituary

Douglas A. Ralston, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on April 23, 2019, while visiting family in Greenville, South Carolina.

He was born on January 31, 1942, in Summerville, South Carolina, to Jesse and Eladia Ralston. He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann, daughters, Stacy (Ken) Stone and Stephanie Suhr, and grandchildren Emily Stone, Douglas Stone, Ellie Suhr, and Will Suhr. Also surviving him are sisters Pat (Walt) Kurtz, Evelyn (Bob) King, and Frances Jeffries. Two brothers predeceased him.

Doug had a strong faith in his Savior Jesus Christ, a deep devotion to his family, and a servant's heart. He was a dedicated teacher at Douglas High School for over 30 years. Doug was a resident of McNeal for 51 years and recently moved to Silver City, New Mexico.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at the First Baptist Church in Douglas. Interment will follow at the McNeal Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Brown Page Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Wounded Warrior Project.
