Donald Jay Haynie, 71, was born in Douglas, Arizona on January 29, 1952. He was found deceased April 14, 2023 at home in Douglas, AZ.

Jay loved living in Arizona and enjoyed his time in and around Douglas for most of his life. He loved his family and friends. His passion for many years was music, and he played local venues with bands over the years. Long after he stopped playing, he still loved listening to an old steel guitar and regularly listened to his favorite artists. He enjoyed talking about and tinkering with old vehicles. He, also, enjoyed listening to his favorite talk radio stations, podcasts, and relaxing looking out over the valley. He was quick with a laugh and smiled while listening to his kids' stories and catching them up on old memories of his.

He is predeceased by his father Melvin Donald Haynie and his sister Michelle Rye. He is survived by his mother Rose Haynie, his brother Ralph (Trish) Haynie and his three children Troi (Wolfgang) Huber, Joe (Betsy) Haynie, and Charlie (Honey) Haynie. He is also survived by many loving nieces, grand nieces, nephews and grand nephews.

A small, informal graveside service will be held at Whitewater Cemetery located on N Mormon Road in Elfrida, AZ 85610 on April 29 at 3pm. Following the service, family and friends are asked to come to 6673 Gleeson Rd, Elfrida, AZ 85620 where we will be having a dinner and gathering.
