Obituary

Delia F. Leon, was peacefully swept by the angels of heaven on February 28, 2015. She was born to Enrique and Guadalupe F. Leon on September 15, 1938 in Los Hoyos, Sonora Mexico. Delia lived in Douglas most of her life, and worked at the Woods Company, Billy the Kids, Zenith TV, and the Douglas Public School Cafeteria. After retiring, she volunteered at the Douglas Food Bank. She moved to Tucson to live with her niece Lupita, but traveled to San Luis Obispo, CA quite often to spend time with another niece, Alice. In Tucson, she volunteered her time to St. Augustine's Catholic High School's lunch program. Delia is preceded in death by her parents, Enrique and Guadalupe Leon, and a sister, Alicia Molina. She is survived by her brothers, Enrique and Cuactemoc Leon, both of Douglas. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, god-children and many wonderful friends in Douglas, Tucson, and San Luis Obispo, CA. Delia wasn't just an ordinary "aunt" as we all knew her. She served as a sister, mother, friend, confidant, big sister, teacher, historian, sister in law, cousin and most importantly a pillar of the family. She cared for so many people and was always there in our time of need. We will miss her tremendously. A Celebratory Mass will be recited at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday, March 21st at 10:30 a.m. Burial of her ashes will follow at Julia Page Memorial Park.
