Cloromiro "Cacho" Santa Cruz, 71, of Douglas, AZ, left this Earth and joined our Heavenly Father this past July 3, 2023. He was surrounded by family.

He is survived by his wife, Ana Elia, and by his daughters and sons Krystal, Karina, Kasho, Raul, and Denise. He is also survived by his grandchildren Danitza, Daphne, Julianna, Sophia, Sergio, Daniel, Santiago, Fabian, Isabella, Matteo and his great grandchildren Elianna, Christian, Angel, and Dominick. He is also survived by his sons-in-law Sergio, Jared, Ryan, and Dan, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth, several other brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. His surviving siblings are Ana Maria and Tony. Upon his death, he called upon his deceased brothers Eduardo, Rosalio "Chalio", and Jose Jesus "Mavino" to escort him to meet our Heavenly Father and to reunite him with his parents Cloromiro and Antonia.

Cloromiro "Cacho" Santa Cruz was born on June 14, 1952 in the town of Esqueda, Sonora, Mexico which is located about 50 miles south of the Douglas, AZ/Agua Prieta, Sonora border. He, his parents, and his siblings immigrated to the United States (Douglas, AZ) around June 1964 where he attended the local schools. During the mid-1970's, as a young man, he worked at Capin's Department Store where he met his wife Ana Elia. As the story goes, Ana Elia was shopping for something within a department in the store that didn't correspond to him. However, being that she caught his eye, he pretended to work in that department so that he could meet her and try to get to know her. The act worked as they were married for 45 years. Throughout this time, Cacho initially worked in agriculture "chasing" the lettuce through the seasons; however, this proved difficult for the family due to his long absences. Thus, when the opportunity presented itself, Cacho applied to work for the City of Douglas and he happily retired from there with over 25 years of service.

Cacho was an energetic, hardworking, and loving person. He made friends everywhere he went and loved helping others.  He dedicated his free time to the church.  At family gatherings and parties, he joked, danced, sang, and had a contagious laugh that could be heard anywhere in the house. His music preference varied from Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, and ZZ Top to José José, Los Freddy's and Los Apson (and many other artists in between). He instilled a sense of integrity, perseverance, and faith in his children who are proud of him and feel fortunate that our Lord allowed us to have been a part of his life.

To help honor his life and legacy, please visit Brown-Page Mortuary at 910 N F. Avenue in Douglas, Arizona on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. There will be a service from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm and visitation before and after.  The following day, service will be held at 11:00 am at Primera Iglesia Bautista Del Sur located at 1301 E. 13th Street in Douglas, Arizona.

Cloromiro "Cacho" Santa Cruz, de 71 años, de Douglas, AZ, dejó esta Tierra y se unió a nuestro Padre Celestial el pasado 3 de julio de 2023. Estaba rodeado de familia.

Le sobreviven su esposa, Ana Elia, y sus hijas e hijos Krystal, Karina, Kasho, Raúl y Denise. También le sobreviven sus nietos Danitza, Daphne, Julianna, Sophia, Sergio, Daniel, Santiago, Fabian, Isabella, Matteo y sus bisnietos Elianna, Christian, Angel y Dominick. También le sobreviven sus yernos Sergio, Jared, Ryan, y Dan y su nuera Elizabeth, varios otros cuñados y cuñadas.  Sus hermanos sobrevivientes son Ana María y Tony. A su muerte, llamó a sus hermanos fallecidos Eduardo, Rosalio "Chalio" y José Jesús "Mavino" para que lo acompañaran a encontrarse con nuestro Padre Celestial y para que lo reunieran con sus padres Cloromiro y Antonia.

Cloromiro "Cacho" Santa Cruz nació el 14 de junio de 1952 en la ciudad de Esqueda, Sonora, México, que se encuentra a unas 50 millas al sur de la frontera de Douglas, AZ / Agua Prieta, Sonora. Él, sus padres y sus hermanos emigraron a los Estados Unidos (Douglas, AZ) alrededor de junio de 1964, donde asistió a las escuelas locales. A mediados de la década de 1970, cuando era joven, trabajó en la tienda Capin's, donde conoció a su esposa Ana Elia.  Según el cuento, Ana Elia estaba comprando algo dentro de un departamento de la tienda que no le correspondía a Cacho. Sin embargo, siendo que ella le llamó la atención, fingió trabajar en ese departamento para poder conocerla y tratar de conquistarla. El acto funcionó ya que estuvieron casados durante 45 años. A lo largo de este tiempo, Cacho trabajó inicialmente en la agricultura "persiguiendo" la lechuga a través de las estaciones; Sin embargo, esto resultó difícil para la familia debido a sus largas ausencias. Por lo tanto, cuando se presentó la oportunidad, Cacho solicitó trabajar para la ciudad de Douglas y felizmente se retiró de allí con más de 25 años de servicio.

Cacho era una persona enérgica, trabajadora y cariñosa. Hacía amigos dondequiera que iba y le encantaba ayudar a los demás. Dedicaba su tiempo libre a la iglesia.  En reuniones familiares y fiestas, bromeaba, bailaba, cantaba y tenía una risa contagiosa que se podía escuchar en cualquier lugar de la casa. Su preferencia musical varió desde Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin y ZZ Top hasta José José, Los Freddy's y Los Apson (y muchos otros artistas intermedios). Él inculcó un sentido de integridad, perseverancia y fe en sus hijos que están orgullosos de él y se sienten afortunados de que nuestro Señor nos haya permitido haber sido parte de su vida.

Para ayudar a honrar su vida y legado, visite Brown-Page Mortuary en 910 N F. Avenue en Douglas, Arizona, el viernes 14 de julio de 2023, de 4:00 pm a 7:00 pm. Habrá un servicio de 5:30 pm a 6:30 pm y visitación antes y después.  Al día siguiente, el servicio se llevará a cabo a las 11:00 am en Primera Iglesia Bautista Del Sur ubicada en 1301 E. 13th Street en Douglas, Arizona.
