Obituary

Clara Brooks passed away at her home on Saturday, January 17, 2015. She was born in Douglas, Arizona on January 31, 1936 to Ross W. Brooks and Maria Hurtado Brooks. Clara was preceded by her parents, her eldest son Steven Carlos Brooks, and her youngest brother Ross "Michael" Brooks, Jr. She is survived by her son Zenon Ross Brooks and daughter in-law Mindy Brooks. She also leaves her sisters and brother: Isabel "Bessie" West, Dora Tyrrell, Alma Marcoux and Jerry Marcoux, Norma Menges, and John J. Brooks. Not only did Clara leave her immediate family but she left several extended family members and friends whom she kept close with. Clara graduated from Douglas High School in 1956. After high school, she attended a nursing program in El Paso, Texas and worked several years at the Cochise County Hospital. Afterwards she worked at Safeway, K-Mart, Dairy Queen and finished her last years until retirement at Wal-Mart. Clara will forever be remembered for always being there for her family and friends. She was helpful and supportive when needed. Many would probably remember her most for baking during the holidays. If you had a conversation with Clara, she would talk about sports. Clara, our lives will be empty without you, but thank you for all the wonderful memories we all can rejoice in. A Rosary for Clara will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Church with A Mass of the Resurrection being celebrated following the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Burial of her ashes will follow at Julia Page Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers are Eric Brooks, John J. Brooks, Jr., Paul Marcoux, James West, George West, Ralph Wisterman and Gary Brooks.
