In the arms of angels Carmen V. Sierra entered eternal life into the arms of our Lord on July 9, 2015 at her home in Douglas. Carmen was born on July 5, 1940 in Douglas, Arizona to Manuel and Ernestina Vasquez Sierra. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Alice Gulliver and Josephine Sierra and her brothers Raul and Tony Sierra. Carmen is survived by her children Rosa Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez, Maria Baltierrez, Jesse (Dee) Bruner, Leticia (Joe) Moreno, Lisa Sierra, Manny Sierra, Michelle Sierra, Jeannette (Michael) Garica, and Johnny (Jodi) Sierra. Siblings Frank (Bertha) Sierra, Hector (Lupe) Sierra, Dolores S. Sierra and Julie (Johnny) Montelongo. Carmen also leaves her 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her lasting friendships, her love of music, dance and a caring nature. Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at St. Luke's Church with a Holy Rosary being recited at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. with Father Gilbert Malu officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers who will serve are Hector Sierra, Frank Sierra, Johnny Sierra, Manuel Hernandez, Joe Moreno and Michael Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Jesse Bruner, Angel Sierra, Marky Hernandez, Joe Moreno and Raul Sierra. The family is very grateful and gives their heartfelt thanks to all who have helped and donated.
