Bonifacio "Boni" Lomeli passed away peacefully at his home in Douglas, Arizona, on January 17, 2026. During his final days, he was lovingly surrounded by family and friends who cherished his presence.

"Boni" was born as one of thirteen children to Monico and Amparo Lomeli, growing up in a close-knit and loving family. He will be deeply remembered and forever loved by his devoted wife, Angelita Lomeli, of 42 years, and his children: Carlos Lomeli (Norma), Michael (Marie) Gamez, Luis Lomeli, Cecilia (Jose) Madero, Maria Lomeli (Marcelino), Angelita Lomeli (Junior), Martin (Jaclyn) Lomeli, and Annabelle Lomeli.

A doting grandfather and great-grandfather, "Boni" treasured his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Especially the many children from the Lomeli's Childcare Center and Lomeli's Too Childcare Center, who made a lasting impact on him.

He is also survived by his siblings: brothers Francisco Lomeli (predeceased wife Ofelia) and Albert (Norma) Lomeli and his sisters Juanita (Francisco) Arellano and Rosario Lomeli (Javier), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

"Boni" was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Monico and Amparo Lomeli; children Miriam Elizabeth Lomeli and Manuel (Piri) Gamez; brothers Chalano, Kati, Sixto, Poloni, Dimas and Toli; and sisters Maria Paulina, Olivia Encinas and Bertha Sierra.

"Boni" was a gifted, self-taught musician, celebrated for his exceptional mastery of multiple instruments. His soulful voice took center stage as the lead singer on his recorded album, Orchestra Vida, a testament to his extraordinary talent. Throughout his life, he generously shared his passion for music by performing with numerous bands across Southeastern Arizona and Mexico, such as, Los Juveniles, Casa Blanca, Santa Cecilia, Suavecito, Galaxy, Ritmo Sabor, Rudy Bernal Band, Pueblo, Los Unicos, La Familia, Poor Boys, Latin Combo, Star Combo, and Los Morales, captivating audiences with his vibrant performances and heartfelt melodies.

In addition to his musical talents, "Boni" was a proud and dedicated First Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He also served as the Bushmaster's Club President and as a proud member of the Douglas Noon Lions Club, contributing and giving back to the community. His commitment to service reflected his steadfast leadership, honor, and integrity both on and off the stage. His legacy of love, music, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by countless family and numerous friends.
