Arthur Rivas, 66, of Douglas, passed away on Tuesday November 11, 2014 in Tucson at the Southern Arizona VA Hospital. Arthur was born in Douglas, Arizona to Fernando and Julia Rivas on June 07, 1948. He attended grade school through High school in Douglas. He served in the U. S. Navy and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He enlisted into the U.S. Army (National Guard 2222nd) in 1979 and retired 2001. He was a "Desert Storm" Veteran. Arthur also worked with the fine folks at Valley National Bank, Huachuca Federal Credit Union, and the Dept. of Motor Vehicle through various years. Arthur is survived by wife Maria Elena, sons Arthur Wayne(Heidi) Rivas, Andrew(Nadia) Rivas, Anthony Rivas, Danny(Laura) Cota, David(Clarissa) Cota, Michael(Lisa) Moulinet, George Lopez, Brother Gilbert(Pinky) Rivas and Angie Rivas. The family of Arthur Rivas wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Southern Arizona VA Hospital, Douglas Run/Walk for the Cure, Sierra Vista Relay for Life, and all Family and Friends who helped through his Fight. A Rosary for Arthur will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday November 21, 2014 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Douglas, Arizona. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday November 22, 2014 also at St. Luke's Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Huachuca Color Guard, the American Legion and The American Legion Riders. A celebration of Arthur's life will be held at the B.P.O. ELKS Lodge following burial. In lieu of flowers please donate to "Douglas Run/Walk for the Cure" in Arthur Rivas' Honor.
