Obituary

Antonio Ortega, longtime resident of Pirtleville, Arizona, was called to be with our Lord on October 8, 2018.  He was 84 years old.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances Ortega, and his children Antonio Ortega Jr., Albert Francisco Ortega (deceased), Rosa Lydia Urrutia, and Maria Elena Gibson.  Antonio has 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his by his two sisters, Julia Abalos and Adelina Fouts, and his brother, Robert Ortega.  We remember the many ways Antonio served his community, as a member of the Bushmasters Club, The American Legion in Douglas, and as a volunteer in the Pirtleville Fire Department.  Antonio was a lifelong member of the Carpenters Local Union and served as the Business Agent for a period when the chapter resided in Douglas.  He was also an active member and volunteer in the Saint Bernard's Church in Pirtleville.  Antonio served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  We love and miss him but are comforted to know that he is now at peace.  A Rosary for Antonio will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. Bernard's Church in Pirtleville.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. also at St. Bernard's Church.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Huachuca Honor Guard, The American Legion and VFW.
