Andres Medrano, 94, of Pirtleville, AZ passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Copper Queen Community Hospital, Bisbee, AZ. Born September 23, 1927 in Pirtleville, he was the son of the late Jose and Abundia Medrano.
He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a former fork-lift operator for the U.S. Department of the Army at Fort Huachuca, AZ. He was also an active member of the Pirtleville community and of American Legion Post 11 in Douglas, AZ. He was a strong and proud man who always put his family first. He also enjoyed reminiscing with family and friends and will be greatly missed but never forgotten in the hearts of all those whom he touched.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Estella Medrano; daughter Yolanda Moreno Martinez; son Andres Medrano Jr.; and his three siblings, Lupe Medrano, Lola Carlos, Juan Frias.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Sylvia Medrano; son, Oscar Medrano; son, Eddie (Dorothy) Medrano; his four siblings, Benita (Jivaro) Ruiz, Mauro (Lupita ) Medrano, Minnie Chavez, Aurora (Kiki) Sandoval. Grandchildren Xavier, Louie, Victor, Gricelda, Gilbert, Camille, Vernae, Krystal, Ashley, Christine, Danielle, plus 19 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Services to honor his memory are scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2022 in Douglas Arizona. A public viewing is scheduled from 9:00 -10:00 am at Brown Page Mortuary, 910 F Avenue, Douglas; a Rosary will be recited 10:30 am followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am Mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 1211 E. 15TH Street, Douglas; burial will follow at the Pirtleville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Fort Huachuca Honor Guard and the American Legion. Family and friends may visit at this time. Face masks are required for all attending.
Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns there will not be a reception after the burial.
Pallbearers who will serve are, Xavier Medrano, Louie Moreno, Victor Moreno, Gilbert Martinez, Omar Alvarez, Ray Anthony Martinez.
