Amada G. Mendez "Guera" passed away peacefully in her home on February 16, 2019 in Douglas, Arizona.  She was surrounded by all of her children.  She lived a full life to age 91.  Amada was born in San Miguelito, Sonora, Mexico in 1927.  She married Sergio T. Mendez and moved to Douglas, Arizona.  She dedicated her time and support to her husband and seven children.  One of her passions was being outside working in her gardens.  She also enjoyed doing volunteer work at St. Vincent de Paul food kitchen for many years where she made many friends.  She was also active in her church, Immaculate Conception for many years.  Amada is survived by her children Sergio (Ana) Mendez, Anna (Paul) Smith, Glenna (Ken) Edwards, John, Alma, and Eduardo.  She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Sergio T Mendez, daughter Angelica and grand- children Sergio Rene and Savannah.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Brown Page Mortuary with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Immaculate Conception.  Burial will follow at Julia Page Memorial Park.
