Surrounded by her family, Alma Lydia Romero passed away into the loving arms of her Lord on August 30, 2014. Alma Lydia was 60 years young, born on July 9, 1954 in Cananea, Sonora. A 1974 graduate of Douglas High School, she lived in Douglas for the majority of her life; a life that was filled with family, friends, and a lot of love. Her strong will and determination was such a presence in our lives; a beautiful presence that will be greatly missed. Alma Lydia is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 35 years, Jesus; her son Tony (Maria Jesus); grandsons Liam and Xzavier; sisters, Luz Evelia Vargas (Eduardo), Elva "Nene" Carbajal, JoAnn Hurtado (Alfonso); brothers Jorge Luis Cazares (Sylvia) and Ruben Cazares (Vivi); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who loved their Tia Mali very, very much. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Antonio and Luz Cazares and her brother Tony Cazares. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church followed by A Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers who will serve are Lalo Vargas, Carlos Cazares, Ruben Cazares, Tonio Cazares, Jorge Luis Cazares, and Frankie Calvillo.
