Alicia Duarte, 82, of Douglas, AZ, went home to be with our Lord on December 10, 2013, after a long illness. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.
Alicia was born on April 25, 1931 in Bavispe, Sonora, México to Rafael and Ursula Duarte.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Gloria Gomez & Socorro Durazo, her brothers, Rafael & Jesus Duarte, her sisters-in-law, Graciela, Artemisa & Luz Duarte and her brothers-in-law, Manuel Durazo and Frank Amarillas.
Alicia is survived by her sister, Elida Durate, her brother, Luis Duarte, her sons, Jesus "Chuy" (Lisa) Escarcéga Jr., Rafael "Pie" (Barbi) Escarcéga & Ricardo "Canary" Escarcéga, her daughter, Maria Elsa Escarcéga, her granddaughter, Levonne Marie Morales, whom she loved as another daughter, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Prior to her illness, Alicia was involved with the Immaculate Conception Church by attending Bible Study and the Prayer Group. She enjoyed singing, crocheting and other crafting activities. She looked forward to the children bazaar in December that was held in the late 1980's. But she especially loved being with her family and taking pictures of all of them during family gatherings.
Rosary was held on December 12, 2013 at 7:30 PM at Immaculate Conception Church. Mass was held on December 13, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church. Pallbearers were Luis Duarte Ricardo Escarcéga, Rafael Escarcéga and Jesus "Chuy" Escarcéga Jr.
