The family of Alice Sierra Gulliver is deeply saddened to announce her peaceful passing into God's Kingdom on January 21, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren as she entered God's paradise. Mrs. Gulliver was born on March 25, 1928 to Manuel and Ernestina Sierra in Douglas, Arizona. She was the eldest of 14 children. Mrs. Gulliver was a loving wife, mother, Nana, great grandmother and enjoyed many friendships. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Victor C. Gulliver, Sr. her son, Richard S. Gulliver, stepsons, Viviano and Eddie Dominguez and her parents, Manuel and Ernestina Sierra. She is survived by her sons, Victor S. (Toni) Gulliver Jr., Gary Gulliver and stepson, Pablo Dominguez. Daughters, Lydia G. Rendon, Sally G. (Jose Alonzo, Sr.) Portugal, Nancy G. (John) Greer, Nanette G. (Mark) Romo and Vickie G. (Paul) Valenzuela. Brothers and sisters Frank Sierra, Sr., Hector Sierra, Sr., Carmen Sierra, Dolores Sierra and Julie Montelongo. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Mrs. Gulliver left a legacy of wisdom, humor, and love of family. She will long be remembered for her contagious laughter and helping others that were less fortunate and her love of music. Mom, we had to let you go, even though we knew you did not want to leave us. We will forever love and miss you. A Rosary for Alice will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at St. Luke's Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 also at St. Luke's Church with Father Gilbert Malu officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Victor S. Gulliver Jr., Gary S. Gulliver, Alan G. Rendon, Victor Gulliver III, Jose Alonzo Portugal Jr., Jonathan B. Greer, Mark G. Romo Jr., and Paul Valenzuela. Honorary Pallbearers are Julian G. Rendon Jr., Kenny Gulliver, Aric Portugal, Sean G. Romo, Gary Gulliver Jr., Alonzo Portugal Sr., John Greer and Mark Romo. The family is very grateful and gives special thanks to: Southeast Arizona Medical Center, Sierra Vista Regional Hospital, University of Arizona Medical Center, LifeCare Center of Sierra Vista, and St. Joseph's Hospital, Tucson, AZ. And to all the medical professionals that helped our mother during her illness. God bless all of you.
