Alfonso "Poncho" Garcia Galindo passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 10, 2017. He was born February 26, 1929 in Cananea, Sonora.
He is survived by his wife Oralia Galindo,his children Roy (Tere), Jose Carlo (Julie); daughter Yanira (Marcos) and children Sandra (Ray) Marco, and Edward (Sally) from his previous marriage. He has 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Paulina and father Alfonso along with his brother Armando Mandy Galindo.
He played professional baseball in Mexico but dedicated most of his life to his love of cooking. He owned various restaurants, and enjoyed passing down his recipes to his family. He also loved to play bingo. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am on Friday, September 15, 2017 at St. Luke's Catholic Church with a Mass of the Resurrection being celebrated following the Rosary.
