Our Father Alberto Unzueta Jordan at the age of 91 years completed his final journey on November 2, 2015. He is one of five brothers who served in the US Navy during World War II. Dad was married 67 years to his most beautiful wife who bore him 10 children. He was preceded in death by his wife Maude, his son Daniel, two grandchildren Albert and Barbara, his parents Uriel and Cadelaria Jordan, brothers Louie, Ramon, Francisco and Raul. Family who will always love and remember him are his children, Albert (Connie), Bernardo, Maria, George, Charlie (Pat), Richard, Maude, Carolyn, and Larry. Dad was a cofounder of the grocery store E&A on the corner of 7th and G avenue. He with other guard members and members of the community created the Bushmasters Club and was one of it's first presidents. He was instrumental in procuring the Douglas food banks present building where he volunteered for over 15 years. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and served over 30 years in the AZ National Guard retaining the grade of E8 Master Sergeant. His love of baseball will always be remembered as being the best infielder Douglas High School has ever graduated in the 1940s. He played in the Mexican Leagues and was known best for his base stealing and most of all his sliding. He was asked by then the Douglas High School Baseball coach, Manny Valenzuela to come and teach his players how to slide and bunt. Viewing will be held on Friday November 6th, between 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brown Page Mortuary. A Rosary for Alberto will be recited at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church on Saturday November 7, 2015. Burial will follow at the Veteran's section of Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion & VFW.
